Located in the heart of Grindelwald, a 5-minute walk from the train station and the Grindelwald-First ski lifts, Downtown Lodge (Hostel) offers panoramic views of the Eiger and surrounding mountains. The rooms at the hostel are simply furnished and include heating and shared bathrooms. Free lockers are available. Guests can enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast which includes bread, toast, various jams, butter, ham, cheese, yoghurt, cereals, hot drinks and juices. The lodge also has a bar where guests can enjoy music and refreshing drinks. Most of the products are locally produced. A shared kitchen equipped with an oven, refrigerator, microwave, kettle and toaster is available to all guests free of charge. In summer, you can relax in the garden fitted with sun loungers, swings for children and a lounge corner. Balls, table tennis and badminton, as well as city bikes are available for free. The Downtown Lodge (Hostel) has a games room with a billiards table, a PlayStation 2, a TV and DVD player, and tabletop football. A ski and bicycle storage room are provided as well. The property is surrounded by Grindelwald shops, restaurants, bars and nightclubs. The Grindelwald-First skilift is a 5-minute walk away. Guests enjoy free access to the bus and ski shuttle, as well as to an indoor swimming pool.
