The completely non-smoking Nikko Pension L'escale is a 5-minute taxi ride from JR Nikko Train Station, and features a reservable private bath and a cosy lounge with board games. Rooms have free Wi-Fi and a private bathroom. Rooms are basic but homely, with free Wi-Fi, a sofa and a TV. You can make hot green tea with the electric kettle or unwind in the private bath. Slippers and toiletries are provided. Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Nikkozan Rinno-ji Temple and Nikko Futarasan Shrine are all a 5-minute drive away. Free transport is available upon request to Nikko Toshogu Shrine and JR Nikko Train Station, and parking is free. Hiking, fishing and other outdoor activities can be enjoyed near the hotel. The lounge has a CD/DVD player and a cable TV. A Western-style breakfast and dinner can be ordered at the dining room, for an additional fee. Cakes for special events can also be prepared, and guests can enjoy a drink at the bar.

The hotel has a curfew at 23:00. Guests cannot enter or leave the hotel after this time. All rooms are non-smoking. Meals are not included, and require payment of additional charges. To use the free shuttle from the hotel to JR Nikko Train Station and/or Toshogu Shrine, please enquire at the front desk. Please note that restaurants around the area are limited and may close early in the evening. Dining options may be difficult to find after this time.
