This newly refurbished, large town centre hotel is located just a few minutes’ walk from the train station, and close to Chelmsford town centre. Reach central London via a direct, 35 minute train route. Chelmsford Museum, Essex County Cricket Club, Riverside Ice and Leisure and Chelmsford Cathedral, amongst other attractions, are all within walking distance of the hotel. The County Hotel prides itself on its superb service, making it an excellent place to stay if you are visiting Chelmsford or its surrounding areas. The 50 spacious and contemporary rooms are bright and stylish, and feature flat screen TVs and free wireless internet access. The acclaimed Samphire Restaurant offers a comfortable, informal yet stylish dining experience and is the perfect place to enjoy classic British food in a modern style.

Early arrivals: if your arrival is early in the day and you prefer immediate access to your room, we recommend reserving for the prior night to guarantee immediate access. If you choose not to reserve, we will be happy to store your bags for you. During the Christmas period the property hosts various events and parties. The hotel will therefore not be as quiet as at other times. Also, every Friday and Saturday night the restaurant will not be available, food will be available in the Lounge Bar area. Every effort is made to ensure your room if away from any such events, however due to the location of rooms sometimes this may not be possible.
